Welcome to the ACCP

The ACCP is the only international membership organization committed solely to the professional development and fellowship for correctional physicians, mid-level practitioners, and dentists, providing a venue of advocacy for us and our patients. ACCP members are united through the goal of improving public health by examining issues specific to the incarcerated and identifying solutions for the medical professionals who care for them. The ACCP endeavors to advance research, education, and training in correctional medicine through academia and government. The ACCP strives to serve our members by promoting the highest professional and ethical standards in the care delivered in America’s correctional facilities.

Fellowship

The American College of Correctional Physicians (ACCP)

serves clinicians working in the correctional world and their patients by promoting excellence in practice, physician development, consistent ethical behavior, and other activities. It has long been part of the vision of the ACCP to raise the profile of physicians working in jails, prisons, and other carceral facilities by achieving formal recognition in the medical field, and especially specialty recognition and accreditation by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). One step on this route has been the establishment of this Fellowship.
