Objectives
- Review the duties of a medical director for an Office of Health Services, and the responsibility the medical director has to the government, public constituents, and patient family members
- Discuss frequent situations where an Office of Health Services may collaborate with Health Services Administration to work towards a common goal
- From the perspective of an Office of Health Services medical director, describe effective ways a statewide or regional medical director or other clinical administrators of a vendor or private contract, can employ to work better with our security partners

Dr. Marlah H. Mardis
Dr. Marlah H. Mardis is the Statewide Medical Director for the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC), overseeing the delivery of medical care. With 34 years of experience in family medicine and correctional healthcare, she has held various leadership roles, including positions in insurance and the private sector. Dr. Mardis also serves as a delegate on the Healthcare Committee of the American Correctional Association (ACA).
